The Problem
Too many parts of Nairobi are affected by uncollected waste, blocked drainage systems, deteriorating roads, and poor infrastructure maintenance. Illegal dumping and inadequate waste management contribute to pollution and disease, while clogged drains cause frequent flooding that damages homes, businesses, and public infrastructure. Poorly maintained roads, pavements, and public spaces increase congestion, reduce mobility, and undermine the city's economic potential.
Our Solution
As Governor, Babu Owino will build a cleaner, greener, and more resilient Nairobi through strategic investment in sanitation and infrastructure:

Clean Nairobi Initiative: Modernise waste collection through scheduled services, better waste management systems, expanded recycling programmes, and stronger enforcement against illegal dumping.

Flood Prevention: Upgrade and regularly maintain drainage networks, clear blocked waterways, and invest in modern stormwater management systems to reduce flooding across the city.
