The Problem
Many Nairobi residents continue to face insecurity, including muggings, robberies, gender-based violence, and crime in public spaces. Poor street lighting, neglected roads, abandoned public areas, and slow emergency response create opportunities for criminal activity. Informal settlements and rapidly growing neighbourhoods often lack the infrastructure and services needed to keep communities safe, while businesses lose income because of insecurity and vandalism.
Our Solution
As Governor, Babu Owino will make Nairobi a safer city through practical county interventions that prevent crime and improve emergency preparedness:

Smarter Street Lighting: Expand and maintain modern street lighting across roads, estates, markets, parks, and public spaces to deter crime and improve visibility at night.
